Thomas Jovanovic-Pelletier
Tax Lawyer
Thomas Jovanovic-Pelletier graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2023 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2024. His interest in tax began well before law school: he worked at the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), including as a project coordinator with its Appeals Branch, and, as an economics student at Mount Allison University, received a research grant to study why people pay their taxes.
Before joining Taxpayer Law, Thomas practised in the tax group of a national full-service law firm, where he summered, articled and worked as an associate. He represents clients in their disputes with the CRA. Having worked inside the CRA, he brings a practical understanding of how the agency works.
Thomas is active in the Canadian Tax Foundation’s Young Practitioners group in Ottawa, where he moderated a session on the CRA’s audit powers. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Le Théâtre du Trillium.
