Terms and Conditions of Taxpayer Law Professional Corporation Pro-Bono Program


Purpose:

Taxpayer Law provides pro-bono legal support for CRA disputes that carry significant public or social impact, offering expert tax law representation to individuals and organizations.

Eligibility Criteria:

The dispute must involve the CRA and highlight issues of substantial social importance or broader public interest.

Initial Application Process

1. Submission:

Complete the short pro-bono application form on our website.

2. Required Information:

  • Name and Email
  • Amount in Dispute (if applicable): Indicate the monetary value involved in your CRA dispute.
  • Statement of Social Importance (50 words): Briefly explain the public significance of your case.

Selection Process

Applications will be assessed based on:

Social Impact:

Potential for positive change or addressing significant issues in tax law.

Legal Merit:

Strength and validity of the legal arguments.

Feasibility:

Our capacity to effectively represent the case given our resources.

Only selected applicants will be notified. Due to high demand, we cannot provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants.

Scope of Services:

Pro-bono representation covers legal fees; disbursements may be discussed separately. Engagement begins with a signed engagement letter, detailing the scope of services.

Confidentiality:

All information provided remains confidential and will be used only by Taxpayer Law Professional Corporation.

Right to Withdraw:

We reserve the right to withdraw from representation if conflicts of interest arise, if information is found to be misleading, or for any other reason.
